MEET THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Anthony Brownstead (b. 2002, Clovis, New Mexico) is a portrait and fine art photographer currently based in Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and Imaging at Ringling College of Art and Design, with plans to graduate in 2025.

Brownstead’s photography draws deeply from his personal experiences, blending elements of storytelling and fantasy with his own emotional journey. His work explores themes of identity, resilience, and imagination, often reflecting on past traumas. Major inspirations include fantastical narratives from Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Alice in Wonderland, which influence his approach to visual storytelling and artistic expression.

His recent accomplishments include having his work featured in three exhibitions at the Deborah M. Cooley Photography Center in Sarasota, Florida: Fashion in Frame, Luminous Energy, and Record/Reflect. These exhibitions highlighted his ability to create evocative imagery that resonates with viewers on a deeply personal and imaginative level.

With a passion for using photography to convey meaningful stories, Brownstead continues to push boundaries in his craft. His dedication to merging fantasy with real-life experiences
